The Simpson College Community Orchestra is hosting a performance this Friday evening, with Christmas and holiday themed music. Giovanni Antonio Bertoli-  Sonata Prima for Bassoon (published in 1645). The performance is free and open to the public. The Simpson College Community Orchestra is teaming up with a local opera star to perform excerpts from "Xerxes." The orchestra will consist primarily of Simpson College students, but the music department is looking for community members to fill out its string section. The Simpson College Community Orchestra is getting ready for its annual winter show. Michael has performed as a bassoonist with the Des Moines Symphony, Des Moines Metro Opera, Kansas City Symphony, Kansas City Chamber Orchestra, Charleston Symphony, Kansas City Ballet, and St. Joseph Symphony, among others.
